“Music of the Americas – Energy, Hope and Joy!” featuring The Coffee Trust

Our Winter Recital, featuring music from North, Central, South Americas, and the Islands, will be held on Friday, January 24th at 6:00 p.m. at The James Library, 24 West St. Norwell MA. Please come if you can!

Debi Fishbein Adams, dear friend and brilliant teacher, will be our featured speaker at our “Music of the Americas,” recital later this month. We are supporting The Coffee Trust, which her brother, Bill Fishbein, founded.

Happy New Year 2025!

We are welcoming one or two new adult avocational students to our roster. Our curriculum is thorough, expansive, and exciting. Your goals for growth will be continually monitored and addressed. You’ll be part of vibrant community of adult learners, and benefit from special topic lectures, studio classes, and generous asynchronous support, in addition to your ongoing private lessons. We offer in-person instruction for those within commuting distance of our South Shore Boston studio, and remote instruction for those farther afield.

A Whirlwind of Learning Fall/Winter 2024

Please find below a sample of what we’ve studied and accomplished this year so far! Our theme is “Music of the Americas,” so we’re playing music of and researching cultures of Bolivia, Costa Rica, United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Argentina, and others. We’ve also particitpaed in several South Shore Music Teachers Events. More updates coming!

TWO Playathons to benefit Father Bill’s/MainSpring Centers, which include housing, meals, emplyment and financial counseling, medical services! We raised nearly $3000.00. Thanks to South Shore Music Teachers Association, First Parishes in Norwell and Scituate, and all who played: Micah, Eliza, Amara, Matt, Linux, Thisbe, Allie, Christian, Naomi, Clayton, Lauren, Winter, and Liam!

“Honoring Those Before Us”

Our winter recital took place on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the James Library. It was a special occasion indeed. Everyone played music by Native American composers or music based on Native American vocable themes. It was a moving and heartwarming display of deep expression on these beautiful pieces!

Two Amazing Playathons!

Congratulations ALL on two successful Playathons, sponsored by South Shore Music Teachers Association on November 19 (First Parish Norwell) and Dec. 3 (First Parish Scituate) – to raise money for Father Bill’s/MainSpring House facilities. You were all so giving and played and sang straight from the heart! Music for Good! We’ve raised over $4400 for these two facilities!!

Thank you Amara, Eliza, Rebecca, Naomi, Clayton, Micah, Winter, Liam, Linux, Thisbe (Special Guest,) Allie, David Sr., Diana, David Jr., Christian, Lauren and Guy (alternate event.) There were two trios, two duets and voice/piano in the mix! Thank you to all who participated and so generously donated!
