Goodbye to Piper Flynn and Family!

Piper Flynn, who started lessons in the studio in September, has some exciting times coming up.  She and her family have moved to China, where her dad works for Apple!  Here are some goodbye photos. Piper, you added such spunk and life to the studio for the time you were here and we hope you’ll come back and visit. Your musician Dad will certainly keep up your piano progress, I’m sure.  Good luck and have a blast!IMG_4554IMG_5008IMG_5006IMG_5010

Student serves as Choral Collaborator!

We’re all so proud of Micah Mulder, who served a Choral Collaborator at his school last Tuesday, December 4, 2018.  Micah accompanied a beautiful arrangement of “Pachelbel’s Canon” and he played with such confidence and rich, lovely tone!  Congrats on your preparation and wonderful accomplishment, Micah!  Thanks to Matt Mulder for sending along this video.

Two Fundraisers were Huge Successes

The Thanksgiving Playathon on Saturday, November 17 and the new “Coffeehouse” on Saturday, December 1 were both huge successes!  19 students from the studio played and many others from the studios of other South Shore Music Teachers Association members joined in.  We raised nearly $4400.00 to benefit Rosie’s Place, Pine Street Inn and Father Bill’s Place!  This money will help people in so many ways!  Here are some photos from the events (thanks to Alexander Bury for his great photo of me taking a photo!)  Please note that several students played in BOTH events – over and above!!

Participating were:

Guy Hoffman, Christian Bury, David Won, Jr. (both events,) Diana Won (both events,) Allie Ning (both events,) David Won, Sr. (both events,) Kathryn Harrington, Harrison Logan, Sean Porter (both events,) Eliza Mulder, Micah Mulder, Piper Flynn, Rebecca Murray, Fiona Roy, Jacqui Johnson, Theo Mitterando, Martha Bosworth, Kasey Ericson and Sam Rowland.
